Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's OptumCare is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative in Massachusetts. You can work remotely within commuting distance to the Quincy office, with occasional on-site requirements during training at Congress or Hancock Street locations.

You will screen patient inquiries, schedule appointments, verify eligibility, and support the healthcare team with friendly, patient-centered service. Training is on-site for up to three weeks.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in medical/healthcare or medical insurance setting.
• EMR experience or aptitude to learn EMR.
• Experience booking, rescheduling, and canceling appointments; verify patient eligibility.
• Proficient with Outlook/Teams/Word/Excel for communication and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Screen incoming patient inquiries to determine appropriate routing.
• Provide courteous, friendly, patient-focused service.
• Resolve issues related to patient satisfaction and workflow.
• Coordinate with supervisors on department issues as needed.
• Assist with forms, renewals, referrals, and authorizations.
• Update patient records and ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and care team.
• Monitor clinic schedules and optimize utilization.
• Participate in data collection and improvement projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
