Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Interim Support Coordinator for a fully remote contract role based out of Morrisville, NC. You will provide inbound patient and provider support, coordinating resources and guiding patients through the care journey in collaboration with care coordinators and reimbursement specialists.

The role requires strong communication, medical insurance knowledge, and the ability to navigate complex payer systems.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred; or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience with progressive levels of responsibility within a service driven environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Advanced knowledge of medical insurance terminology and reimbursement/insurance, healthcare billing, physician office, health insurance processing or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary inbound phone support for the Care Coordinator and Reimbursement Case Manager
• Provide unparalleled customer service while representing the program and ensuring quality outcomes
• Advise patients on eligibility, enrollment, reimbursement, affordability, and access to prescribed therapy
• Coordinate with prescribers and patients to remove non-clinical barriers to therapy access
• Understand payer types including private, commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, VA and DOD
• Maintain records in line with standards and regulations for the program
• Establish relationships with patients and healthcare providers
• Follow program guidelines, SOPs, and training materials
• Escalate complex cases per policy and procedures
• Communicate patient status and program effectiveness to the Program Manager and client
• Promote patient outcomes through advocacy and education
• Understand health and disease states of program patients
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy ethics
• Report pharmacovigilance information as required
• Work with Valeris values to drive success
• Adhere to training deadlines and SOPs
• Perform additional tasks as assigned
