Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of full cycle medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers.
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs or denials.
• Experience with insurance claim appeals.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Identifies payment details and saves back-up as appropriate.
• Researches, validates and adjusts payment postings to resolve accounts.
• Interprets payer contracts to ensure codes match contracts.
• Initiates payer recoupments, refunds, and patient refunds as applicable.
• Navigate payer claim portals and communicate clearly.
• Train new and existing associates.
