You will train colleagues and navigate multiple payer portals while collaborating with care teams across states. We offer a fully remote option with video interviews and potential onsite meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, required
• Minimum of one year of full cycle medical billing experience, required
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers, required
• Ability to read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) or interpret denials, required
• Experience with insurance claim appeals, required
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office; familiarity with electronic remittances, required

Responsibilities

• Identifies appropriate payment details and saves back-up as appropriate.
• Researches, validates and makes adjustments to payment postings.
• Interprets payer contracts to ensure codes on patient accounts match contracts.
• Initiates payer recoupments, payer refunds, and patient refunds as applicable; follows procedures for resolution.
• Navigate payer claim portals and understand payer functionality.
• Interacting with others by effectively communicating both orally and in writing.
• Train new and existing associates.
