Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a remote Medical Billing Specialist to handle payment postings, validate postings, interpret payer contracts, and manage denials and credits. You will work with payer portals, communicate clearly, and train team members as needed.

The role includes a comprehensive benefits package and a PEAK program to support education goals. Requires 1 year of billing experience and strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of full cycle medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers.
• Ability to read and understand EOBs or interpret denials.
• Experience with insurance claim appeals.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Identifies payment details and saves back-up as appropriate.
• Researches, validates and adjusts payment postings to resolve issues.
• Interprets payer contracts to ensure codes match contracts.
• Initiates payer recoupments, refunds, and patient refunds as applicable.
• Navigate payer claim portals and understand payer functionality.
• Communicates effectively written and verbally with colleagues and customers.
• Operates computers and office equipment and related software.
• Read and see monitors and documents in English.
• Train new and existing associates.
