Job summary

Complete-Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to work remotely in the Jacksonville, FL or Birmingham, AL area. The role requires managing a high volume of calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and entering data into the EMR system. Strong communication and HIPAA compliance are essential.

The position is full-time with a 9:30am-6:00pm CST shift and pay of $18.00–$18.50 per hour. Prior Athena EMR experience is helpful, with a focus on patient care and accurate data

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma and 1-3 years of healthcare scheduling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude essential.
• Familiarity with EMR system preferred; Athena EMR experience will be helpful.
• A consistent work history with the desire to build a long-term career is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for consultations, evaluations, and treatments; follow-up or re-evaluation.
• Collect existing and new patient insurance information for insurance verification.
• Enter data into EMR and maintain data integrity.
• Take or respond to calls to establish appointments.
• Use schedule codes for scheduling office and hospital-based procedures.
• Provide support to other department members as needed.
• Demonstrate compassion and understanding for patients and families.
• Display patience in understanding and satisfying patient requests.
• Maintain productivity as defined with the Call Center Supervisor.
• Provide patient support and respond to inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, billing, prescriptions, and other services.
• Accurately registering new patients with demographics and insurance information.
• Written communication in EMR with providers and staff.
• Make outbound calls for outreach to schedule appointments (Annual Wellness exams, etc.).
• Handle 3-way calls with patient & insurance to change PCP when necessary.
• Transfer calls to the correct person (billing, etc.).
• Follow HIPAA privacy guidelines.
• Ongoing personal/professional development through training.
