Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City seeks an Enhanced Scheduler to register and schedule patients system-wide, review insurance benefits, costs, and payment options, and collect demographic and clinical information to support billing and reporting.

The role acts as liaison between physicians, offices, and departments; works primarily remote with at least one in-office day per month; provides pre-exam instructions and coordinates appointments across locations while upholding patient-centered

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing multiple tasks or priorities.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.
• Typing proficiency and ability to work in time-sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Verify EMPI link accuracy and ensure scheduling data integrity.
• Gather and review patient demographic, insurance, and scheduling information.
• Explain billing process, insurance benefits, costs, and financial assistance options to patients.
• Input patient data into the scheduling database for billing and reporting.
• Coordinate appointments across multiple locations and service lines.
• Provide empathetic customer service and handle difficult situations.
