Job summary

Yale New Haven Health System is seeking a Connection Center Scheduler to serve as the primary entry for patients into the clinician enterprise, delivering high-quality service by phone and coordinating appointments, procedures, and exams.

You will collect patient information, verify details, and resolve scheduling conflicts across multiple modalities while maintaining HIPAA compliance and professional communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a high-volume patient scheduling customer service environment or comparable administrative experience required.
• Prior experience in a physician's office/medical practice, hospital, or health system and familiarity with a call center and appointment scheduling preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate strong organization, multitasking, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of calls and collect required information from callers.
• Schedule patient appointments, procedures, and exams across the YNHHS enterprise and resolve conflicts.
• Greet callers professionally and provide information, prep instructions, and guidance on referrals or authorizations as needed.
• Verify patient information and reschedule or cancel appointments as requested.
• Utilize scheduling software across multiple modalities and departments.
• Support other duties as assigned and assist teammates as needed.
