Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Patient Financial Access Specialist to support outpatient scheduling and financial intake across multiple locations. You will verify demographics, manage insurance data, and coordinate appointments with physicians and nurses, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and experience with Epic or similar scheduling systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2–3 years in customer service in hospital/physician setting preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train other staff.
• Proficiency in scheduling and registration processes.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance details to ensure billing accuracy.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate complex procedures across locations.
• Enter insurance information and check eligibility in Epic and related systems.
• Support QA and training, and assist in system improvements.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional behavior.
• Maintain scheduling templates and support multi-location templates.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and clinics to optimize workflow.
