Job summary

Electromed Inc. is seeking a Patient Account Liaison to manage referrals from intake to shipping and insurance approval. You will be the main contact for patients and clinics, coordinating documentation, authorizations, and patient education on treatment costs and options.

You will work closely with physicians, CAMs, and internal teams to maintain patient flow, verify benefits, and ensure accurate data in the system. A background in healthcare, DME, and HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
• Extensive customer service experience with phone contact, preferably in a call center.
• Substantial experience working directly with providers in healthcare or DME setting.
• Strong experience working with insurance companies for benefits, coverage, and authorizations.
• Previous experience in medical device or other healthcare environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical documentation and HIPAA laws.
• Experience working with sales teams is a plus.
• Experience with DME billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and process new referrals from patient intake to shipping and insurance approval.
• Serve as primary contact for patients, clinics, and CAMs within designated territory.
• Obtain payer documentation and submit insurance authorizations.
• Maintain electronic charts with care plans, medical information, and billing data.
• Verify benefits and ensure proper authorizations for treatment coverage.
• Develop payer knowledge base related to diagnosis and coverage guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with extreme attention to detail in HIPAA-compliant manner.
