Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Interim Support Coordinator for a fully remote contract role, based out of Morrisville, NC. You will provide inbound phone support to patients, caregivers, and providers and coordinate resources to facilitate access to prescribed therapy.

You will support Patient Care Coordinators and Reimbursement Specialists, guiding patients through eligibility, enrollment, and reimbursement processes while protecting confidentiality and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience within a service-driven environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Advanced knowledge of medical insurance terminology and reimbursement/insurance, healthcare billing, physician office, health insurance processing or related experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills required.
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and follow-through in communication with patients, providers and internal stakeholders.
• Willing to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and multi-task.
• Empathetic listening skills to interact effectively with patients and providers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary inbound phone support for the Care Coordinator and Reimbursement Case Manager.
• Provide unparalleled customer service while acting as a brand advocate and program representative.
• Assist patients with eligibility, enrollment, reimbursement processes, affordability support and general access for prescribed therapy.
• Back up contact to health care providers for ongoing support and relationship development by delivering detailed program information.
• Partner with the prescriber and patient to remove non-clinical barriers to access to prescribed therapy.
• Explain benefits offered by all payer types including private/commercial and government (Medicare, Medicaid, VA, DOD).
• Liaise with client contacts, Program Management, Healthcare Providers, and Manufacturer as needed.
• Maintain records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Establish relationships, develop trust, and maintain rapport with patients and healthcare providers.
• Follow program guidelines, SOPs, Call Guides, and other program materials.
• Escalate complex cases per program policy and procedures.
• Communicate patient status and program effectiveness to Program Manager and client.
• Improve patient outcomes through advocacy, education and facilitation of services.
