Job summary

OnHires is seeking a reliable Senior Systems Administrator to support customer-facing infrastructure and contribute to technical improvement projects. This long-term part-time role requires 10–15 hours per week, with remote work and availability during EU business hours.

You will handle Windows and Linux servers, Hyper-V/VMware environments, and 24/7 data-centre operations, ensuring uptime and quality support.

Qualifications

7+ years of systems, infrastructure, or data-centre experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux.
Hyper-V and VMware.
Dell and/or Supermicro servers.
Server and virtualisation troubleshooting.
Strong customer-facing experience in technical support or infrastructure operations, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users.
Experience in data centres, hosting, managed services, or another 24/7 infrastructure environment.
Good understanding of networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
Strong spoken and written English.
Reliable, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of issues through resolution.

Responsibilities

Administer and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers.
Support Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware environments.
Diagnose issues with Dell and Supermicro servers.
Resolve customer incidents involving VPS, dedicated servers, virtualisation, and connectivity.
Maintain Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, backups, and monitoring.
Support data centre infrastructure, storage, and networking.
Participate in upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
Maintain clear technical documentation and follow change-management procedures.
