Job summary

AppCard, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented part-time Collections Clerk to manage accounts receivable in a fast-paced startup environment. This remote/hybrid role offers flexible hours in Manhattan and requires 3+ years in collections or AR.

You will monitor aging, send reminders, resolve discrepancies with sales, log communications, and support month-end AR reporting while maintaining professional, proactive communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in collections, AR, or billing.
• Clear, professional communication: polite but persistent.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a steady volume with minimal supervision.
• Can-do attitude and ownership.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Understanding of basic accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due invoices via email and phone.
• Send payment reminders, statements, and invoice copies to customers.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies with sales and account management.
• Log customer communications and payment commitments in our systems.
• Escalate at-risk accounts and support month-end AR reporting.
• Help improve the collections process as we grow.
