Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Professional coder certification (AHIMA and/or AAPC) and annual maintenance.
• 2+ years of PC experience in Windows, including MS Excel and EMR systems.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding with a focus in Palliative Care.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and guidelines.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all services.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging/coding of records.
• Generates coding queries for clarification as needed.
• Stay abreast of changes in coding conventions and updates.
