Job summary

You will query physicians when needed and stay current with coding updates. The ideal candidate holds AHIMA/AAPC credentials and has 2+ years of ICD-10/CPT experience, including observation coding, with strong Excel and EMR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA and/or AAPC professional coder certification required (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC).
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers experience.
• 2+ years of observation coding experience.
• Proficient Excel and EMR systems, strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility services per guidelines.
• Code facility outpatient services with Observation focus.
• Ensure coding aligns with AAPC/AHIMA ethical standards and client guidelines.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in meetings.
