Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Credentialed coder with AHIMA or AAPC certification.
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers experience.
• 2+ years of acute surgery experience.
• Proficient with Windows, Excel, and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Expert knowledge in facility outpatient coding types: Same Day Surgery.
• Assign ICD-10/CPT/modifiers per guidelines and client guidelines.
• Adhere to coding ethics per AAPC/AHIMA.
• Maintain performance in coding quality and productivity.
• Understand APC codes and Medicare policies (NCCI/LCD/NCD).
• Query physicians when appropriate.
• Keep up-to-date coding knowledge via QM Manager and directors.
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events.
• Additional responsibilities as identified by manager.
