Job summary

Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Outpatient Medical Coder to perform remote coding for VA Health Care System (VAHCS) outpatient visits and surgeries. The coder will read records via VistA/CPRS and enter codes into the approved encoder, adhering to HIPAA and VA privacy requirements.

This role requires at least 2 years of outpatient coding experience, VA or government contractor background preferred, and familiarity with CPT/ICD/HCPCS coding systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years outpatient coding experience.
• At least 6 months VA or other government contractor experience.
• Experience using VIRR/WebVIRR.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote coding on outpatient visits and surgical procedures for VA Health Care System.
• Access VistA/CPRS to read and code medical records and enter codes into encoder or other package.
• Comply with HIPAA provisions as a Business Associate and complete required training.
