Job summary

Sierra7 is seeking a Part-Time Inpatient Medical Coder in the United States to support the Department of Veterans Affairs by analyzing patient records, coding diagnoses and procedures with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS, and ensuring accurate DRG assignment.

Candidates must have at least 2 years of inpatient coding experience, VA experience preferred, and be a certified coder. The role offers remote work with a minimum of 20 hours per week, Monday through Sunday scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient coding experience.
• VA experience or government contractor experience preferred.
• Must be a certified coder or actively maintaining credentials.

Responsibilities

• Code CPT, ICD-10, and DRG for PTF charts in ICD-10.
• Maintain 95% accuracy on hourly coding productivity.
• Adhere to site-specific coding guidelines.
• Provide training in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and coding systems.
• Ensure CPT/AMA and ICD codes support documentation and reimbursement.
• Familiarity with VIP and screens 101, 401, 501, 601, 701.
