Optum is seeking a Coding Specialist to identify CPT and ICD-10 coding for outpatient Interventional Radiology services, adhering to guidelines. The role supports remote work within the U.S. and requires AHIMA/AAPC credential, ICD-10 proficiency, and 2+ years of IR outpatient coding experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED.
• AHIMA/AAPC coding credential maintained annually.
• 2+ years of outpatient facility interventional radiology coding experience.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 experience.
• Proficient in Windows PC environment, including Excel and EMR systems.
• Able to work 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT/ICD-10 coding for outpatient IR services per guidelines.
• Apply coding knowledge to CCI edits and medical necessity edits.
• Understand APC codes and abstract data during chart review.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in meetings.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when needed.
