Optum Coding Specialist at UnitedHealth Group is a remote role across the United States. You will assign CPT/ICD-10 codes for outpatient Interventional Radiology, review charts, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.

Expect collaboration with providers, adherence to productivity standards, and ongoing education from QM and Coding leadership. The position requires 2+ years IR coding, an AHIMA/AAPC certification, and strong Excel/EMR skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED.
• 2+ years of Outpatient Facility Interventional Radiology coding experience.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 experience.
• AHIMA/AAPC coding certification (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A).
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel and EMR systems.

Responsabilités

• Identify assignment of CPT and ICD-10 Codes for outpatient Acute Interventional Radiology services.
• Apply coding knowledge to analyze CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits.
• Understand APC codes and related guidelines.
• Abstract data elements during chart review when coding.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and attend department meetings.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when needed.
