Job summary

Optum is seeking a Coding Specialist to assign CPT/ICD-10 codes for outpatient Interventional Radiology services. You will ensure alignment with coding guidelines, QA standards, and client-specific rules while maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

This remote role supports nationwide operations within the United States, offering flexibility to work from home while meeting deadlines. The candidate should hold AHIMA/AAPC credentials, have 2+ years of IR coding experience, and be proficient

Qualifications

• Must hold AHIMA/AAPC coding credentials and maintain annually.
• 2+ years of outpatient facility interventional radiology coding experience.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 experience.
• Proficient with Excel and EMR systems.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT/ICD-10 code assignments for outpatient IR services per guidelines.
• Apply coding knowledge to fix CCI edits and medical necessity edits.
• Understand Medicare APC codes and billing structure.
• Abstract additional data during chart review as needed.
• Maintain coding ethics per AAPC/AHIMA standards.
• Meet performance metrics for coding quality and productivity.
