Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote team. The position requires AHIMA or AAPC credentials and at least 2 years of hospital coding experience, with familiarity in Parallon, Cerner, and Optum. Strong communication and time-management skills are essential for maintaining high coding accuracy and productivity.

The role offers a fully remote, flexible schedule and pays hourly between $20 and $35 USD, with comprehensive benefits and ongoing education support.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials are required.
• 2+ years of hospital coding or coding consulting experience.
• Experience with the listed coding specialties and E/M leveling.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain accuracy targets and track continuing education credits.
• Participate in company training and meetings; communicate with staff regarding issues.
• Adhere to AHIMA code of ethics and provide professional service.
