Job summary

Datavant is seeking a experienced Coding Consultant Outpatient - PRN to work remotely in the United States. You will review medical records, assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures, and ensure correct sequencing and APC assignments.

The role offers a flexible schedule and a focus on high-quality coding across ED and SDS/OBS services. Required are AHIMA or AAPC credentials and 2+ years hospital coding experience, with EPIC/3M familiarity.

Qualifications

• AHIMA CCS/RHIA/RHIT or AAPC CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC credentials required.
• 2+ years hospital coding or coding consulting experience.
• Experience with ED, SDS/OBS, injections/infusions coding.
• Experience with Epic and 3M; knowledge of Clintegrity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review records and assign accurate diagnoses/procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation.
• Abstract data for reporting and statistics.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy.
• Attend Datavant-sponsored education meetings/in-services.
