Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote role. The position focuses on accurate diagnosis and procedure coding, precertification validation in Interventional Radiology, and maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials, have 2+ years of hospital coding experience, and are proficient with EPIC and 3M/Solventum. Strong communication and self-management are essential.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentialed (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC).
• 2+ years of hospital coding or coding consulting experience.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology and associated CPT validation for precertifications.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding improvement opportunities and resolve issues with staff.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings/in-services.
