Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification required and must be maintained annually.
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers experience.
• Experience with acute surgery coding strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility outpatient coding.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and client guidelines.
• Query physicians when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
• Adhere to ethical coding standards per AAPC/AHIMA.
