Job summary

Datavant seeks an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team on a part-time basis (15-20 hrs/week). You will review records, assign HCPCS/ICD codes, and ensure accurate APC and discharge details while maintaining credentialed standards.

You should hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials and have at least three years of hospital coding or coding consultant experience, with strong communication and remote-work skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hospital coding and/or coding consulting experience.
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, and Injections/Infusions.
• Experience with E/M leveling and ancillary/dependent specialties.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes correctly based on documentation and discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting requirements.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy.
• Communicate coding issues and improvement opportunities to staff.
