The ideal candidate has 5+ years in outpatient facility coding/auditing and holds CCS or RHIA/RHIT credentials, with proficiency in Epic/Cerner EMRs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS or RHIA/RHIT required.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs.

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers and appropriate coding references for accurate coding assignment.
• Provides rationale explaining the reasoning behind identified changes with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes and adheres to AHIMA’s code of ethics.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education through the auditing process.
