Job summary

Datavant seeks an Outpatient Auditing Specialist to advance coding quality and education across our healthcare data platform. You will audit outpatient facility records, justify changes with precise references, and stay current with regulatory changes from home.

You’ll collaborate with teams to manage multiple cases, provide coder education, and uphold AHIMA ethics while delivering reliable, customer-focused service. This is a fully remote role with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with Epic, Cerner, and other EMRs.
• AHIMA code of ethics guidance is followed.

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient facility coding audits of medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Provide concise rationale with references and evidence for changes.
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
• Prioritize multiple cases to maintain workflow and timely resolutions.
• Educate coders through the auditing process; act professionally and positively.
