Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience or auditing.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with EMRs such as Epic and Cerner.

Responsibilities

• Performs outpatient facility coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Provides concise rationale with references and location of documentation for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to ensure workflow and resolution.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
• Acts professionally, efficiently and positively.
• Adheres to AHIMA code of ethics.
• Demonstrates customer service focus and professionalism.
• Exhibits high complexity in decision making.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
