Responsibilities include audits of outpatient facility records, providing clear change rationales, staying current on regulations, and educating coders while upholding AHIMA ethics and professional standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience or auditing.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers.
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate.
• Experience with AHIMA/CMS guidelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers.
• Provides rationale with references and documentation locations for changes.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases to support workflow.
• Provides coder education via auditing process.
• Adheres to AHIMA's code of ethics.
• Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, dependability and commitment to the profession.
• Exhibits strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
