Job summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled remote medical coder to accurately code outpatient records for reimbursement and statistics. You will apply ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines, review and update coding edits, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining high accuracy.

Requires 2–4 years of coding experience, AAPC/AHIMA certification, and proficiency with MS Office. This fully remote position supports our coding department across eligible facilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT-4, Disease Pathology, Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology.
• Advanced knowledge of Evaluation and Management Coding guidelines.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications and coding manuals for research.

Responsibilities

• Codes outpatient medical records in a timely and accurate manner according to department policy.
• Transforms verbal descriptions into numerical codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.
• Query physicians when documentation is incomplete or ambiguous for accurate coding.
