Job summary

Datavant, a data collaboration platform for healthcare, seeks experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote, 15-20 hour/week role. You’ll review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate coding for an ambulatory/ED setting while upholding HIPAA and AHIMA/AAPC credentials.

Ideal candidates have RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC family credentials, 3+ years hospital coding experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting.
• Experience with ED E/M leveling and injections/infusions.
• Ability to maintain high coding accuracy and productivity targets.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes and determine discharge disposition.
• Abstract data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% APC accuracy.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.

3+ years hospital coding experience

AHIMA/AAPC credentials familiarity
