Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote, part-time role (15–20 hours/week) focused on ED/Ambulatory Surgical coding for Level III trauma facilities. You will review records, assign codes, ensure proper discharge dispositions, and enter data for reporting.

Qualifications

• AHIMA credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) or AAPC credentials (CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC) are required.
• 3+ years of hospital coding experience or coding consulting experience.
• Proficiency in ED, observation, injections/infusions coding.
• Strong communication and remote-work skills.
• Experience with encoding/abstracting software and HIPAA testing.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes.
• Sequence codes correctly based on documentation.
• Enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues and improvement opportunities for resolution.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity per site standards.
