Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate has AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC) and 3+ years of hospital coding experience, including ED and ambulatory procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in a hospital or coding consulting role.
• Proficiency with ED/E/M leveling, injections/infusions, and related specialties.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% APC assignment accuracy while meeting productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Communicate coding issues to appropriate personnel for follow-up and resolution.
