Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband designs while upholding Cable One standards. You will prepare detailed CAD/GIS design files and collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering.

The role supports remote work for qualified candidates across multiple states, with opportunities to learn new software and lead major plant upgrades.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plan design, construction, or GIS preferred.
• Intermediate GIS experience with ESRI and Schneider design software following Cable One standards.
• Intermediate understanding of cable design.
• Familiarity with telecommunications outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information.
• Update as-builts after construction completes and releases the area.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology when required.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Responsible for fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades.
• Perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.
• Support the company’s values in daily duties.
