Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband designs while upholding company standards. You will draft, read walkouts, and prepare complete design packets in collaboration with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering.

Responsibilities include updating as-builts, designing major upgrades, and prioritizing multiple projects. Remote work is possible for the right candidate with strong GIS and cable design skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience; outside plan design/construction or GIS experience preferred.
• Intermediate GIS knowledge per Cable One standards (ESRI, Schneider).
• Intermediate cable design understanding.
• HFC and Fiber symbology proficiency.
• Familiar with telecom outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong problem-solving and clear written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
• Update as-builts as construction completes and releases area.
• Provide complete construction build packets with deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as needed.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement needs.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy.
