Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create cost-effective broadband designs that meet our standards. You will prepare and support detailed CAD/GIS drawings, collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering, and ensure designs align with our cables and fiber standards.

This role may be remote in approved states and requires strong attention to accuracy and project coordination. We value experience in outside plant design, GIS, and MS Office, and expect you to manage

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience.
• Experience in outside plant design, construction, GIS preferred.
• Proficiency with ESRI GIS apps and Schneider design software following Cable One standards.
• Knowledge of HFC and fiber symbology.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction completes.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and reinforcement planning.
• Design major plant upgrades.
• Perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
• Handle multiple projects with accuracy.
