Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create broadband system designs cost-effectively while upholding Cable One standards. You will prepare detailed CAD/GIS design files and collaborate with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver design services.

The role supports ongoing plant upgrades and complex fiber work. The ideal candidate has an associate degree with five years of related experience and strong GIS and cable design knowledge, along with proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or university with minimum five years related experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of GIS applications such as ESRI and Schneider design software.
• Intermediate understanding of cable design.
• Well versed in HFC and Fiber symbology.
• Familiarity with outside plant equipment design and construction techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Ability to solve problems and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts as construction completes and releases the area.
• Provide complete construction build packets with full design deliverables in a timely manner.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology as required.
• Create complex fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and redesigns as needed.
• Handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy.
