Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to design, implement and optimize the PeopleSoft database across our enterprise HR systems. The role supports remote work for select US residents and involves up to 10% travel.

You will install, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases on AWS RDS, perform tuning, backup strategies, and cross-region DR planning while ensuring security and compliance across environments.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• DoD Secret level security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Security+ CE certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience.
• Strong performance tuning, capacity planning and optimization skills.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Bash or Python.
• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, OCI) a plus.
• Familiar with automation and monitoring tools for PeopleSoft.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS.
• Perform performance tuning, SQL optimization and diagnostics for PeopleSoft databases.
• Ensure database availability, integrity, and security using automated monitoring (CloudWatch, RDS metrics).
• Develop robust backup strategies (RMAN, PITR, cross-region backups) and validate restores.
• Create and maintain documentation for configurations, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans.
• Automate routine tasks with shell scripts, Python, SQL automation, and Lambda workflows.
