Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to join our IT team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing the PeopleSoft database to support our enterprise HR system.

Fully remote position available to residents in multiple states; travel up to 10%. The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an Oracle DBA, strong SQL/PL-SQL skills, and experience with AWS RDS and PeopleSoft tooling.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.
DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
Security+ CE Certification, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with in-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture.
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments.
Perform proactive performance monitoring, SQL tuning, and resource optimization.
Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability through automated monitoring and alerting.
Develop and implement robust backup strategies, including RMAN and PITR.
Enforce database security policies, including access control and auditing.
Troubleshoot database issues, including slow queries and cross-tier bottlenecks.
Create and maintain documentation for processes, architecture, configurations, and runbooks.
Automate routine tasks using scripting and AWS workflow tools.
Support migrations and upgrades across environments (on-prem and cloud).
Participate in disaster recovery planning and high availability architecture.
