Blacksmith Agency is seeking a VP of Operations to run the day-to-day remotely for US clients. You will manage four department leads, and drive sales, recruiting, delivery and marketing with profit and margins in focus.

This integrator role scales a growing team and requires clear communication with the founder, along with hands-on negotiation and decision-making to keep initiatives on track.

Qualifications

• Several direct reports across multiple functions with P&L ownership.
• Proven track record growing teams from ~40 to 140 people.
• Hands-on profit and margin management, not just revenue.
• Strong contract negotiation experience.
• Clear communicator to align four leads and the founder.

Responsibilities

• Oversee four department leads, their performance, development and reviews.
• Set the week, this quarter's priorities, and resolve conflicts when needed.
• Own profitability, focusing on delivery margins and hiring costs.
• Lead commercial discussions, client contracts and vendor terms.
• Coach and develop operators into actual leaders.
• Make founder-aligned decisions when priorities collide.
