Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an O&M Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for long-term service agreements on utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This role analyzes project specifications, RFP documents, and collaborates with business development, project managers, and engineers to ensure timely, precise bids.

This fully remote position requires 3+ years estimating experience, a relevant engineering/architecture degree, excellent Excel skills, and knowledge of solar/BESS

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years estimating experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook; exceptional Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Review RFP documents, project plans, specs to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
• Identify and quantify equipment and OEM requirements.
• Meet and maintain bidding schedules.
• Participate in estimate reviews.
• Work with subcontractors to define and obtain costs for minor scopes.
• Maintain vendor relationships for new equipment models and pricing.
• Identify risks and assist in risk matrix/go-no-go decisions.
• Update cost databases and estimating software/templates; manage estimate versions.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
