Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an O&M Estimator to develop accurate long-term service cost estimates for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This fully remote role involves reviewing RFPs, collaborating with business development, project managers, and engineers, and delivering estimates on time.

Required is a engineering/CM/architect background with at least 3 years estimating experience, plus strong Excel and software skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years estimating experience for utility-scale solar/BESS projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to read specs and drawings.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, project plans, and specs to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and materials pricing; quantify equipment and OEM needs.
• Meet bidding schedules and participate in estimate reviews.
• Work with subcontractors to define costs for minor scopes and maintain vendor relations.
• Identify risks and assist in risk matrix and go/no-go decisions.
