Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an experienced O&M Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive long-term service cost estimates for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This fully remote role involves analyzing RFPs, project specs, and collaborating with BD, PMs, and engineers to ensure timely, precise bids.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 3+ years of estimating experience, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience.
Working knowledge of utility scale solar and BESS equipment and operation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong Excel skills and proficient with MS Word/Outlook.
Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret RFP documents, project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
Accurately identify and quantify equipment and OEM requirements.
Meet and maintain bidding schedules.
Participate in estimate reviews.
Work with subcontractors to define and get costs for minor scopes of work.
Maintain vendor relationships to stay current on new equipment models and changes in manuals that affect pricing.
Identify risks involved in the projects.
Assist in the preparation of risk matrix and go/no-go decisions.
