Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an O&M Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for long-term service agreements on utility-scale solar and BESS projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, RFPs, collaborating with business development, project managers, and engineers, and ensuring estimates are completed accurately and on time.

This role is fully remote. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of estimating experience.
• Experience with utility-scale solar or BESS is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• Strong computer skills including Word and Outlook; Excellent Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, project plans, specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
• Identify and quantify equipment and OEM requirements.
• Meet and maintain bidding schedules; participate in estimate reviews.
• Work with subcontractors to define costs for minor scopes of work.
• Maintain vendor relationships to stay current on equipment models and pricing.
• Identify risks and assist in risk matrices and go/no-go decisions.
• Meet with SMEs to validate labor metrics and update estimate templates.
• Maintain cost databases and estimating software or templates.
• Develop estimate version management processes.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations and best practices.
• Manage multiple pricing efforts and meet deadlines.
