Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an Operations Manager for Commercial Nuclear, primarily remote with base in Oak Ridge, TN. You will lead the operations engineering team, oversee design, licensing, maintenance activities and training programs for nuclear facilities, ensuring reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.

You will drive strategic staffing, risk management and collaboration across senior management and clients, delivering technically complex solutions with broad impact.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical discipline.
• Requires 15 years of experience; typical incumbent has 20–25 years.
• Strong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests.
• Expert knowledge of the operations and maintenance of commercial nuclear facilities.
• Extensive knowledge of RadCon requirements and practices for nuclear facilities.
• Knowledge of training program development for NRC-regulated environments.
• SRO or RO license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs work activities within ARUSN supporting the design, engineering and licensing of nuclear projects as it relates to operations, maintenance, operator training, and security.
• Leads the operations engineering team within ARUSN and informs design configurations with operability insights to ensure functionality, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Directs research and solves technical problems of considerable scope and complexity with broad impact on the firm.
• Represents and defends the company's technical work to clients, regulatory agencies and others.
• Coordinates with program manager and other operational/engineering managers to identify staffing needs and recruitment opportunities in technical specialty areas.
• Leads initiatives with considerable risk and complexity; develops the related strategy for execution.
• Solves unique and complex operational problems with broad impact on the business.
