Job summary

AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager who will lead the design and development of mechanical systems for small modular reactors and fuel cycle facilities. This remote-friendly role is based out of Oak Ridge, TN, with collaboration across senior engineers and program managers.

You will supervise a team of mechanical engineers, manage staffing, and ensure compliance with nuclear design standards and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years post-baccalaureate experience.
• Minimum 5 years managing individuals or teams.
• Knowledge of design standards and licensing for commercial nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical design for SMR and fuel cycle facilities.
• Lead a team of mechanical engineers across design and development.
• Staffing, recruitment, and performance management.
• Interface with senior technical managers and program managers.
• Make independent design decisions for complex nuclear projects.
