Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Network Operations Engineer / Network Operations Analyst for a remote, contract role with a typical 2:00 PM–11:00 PM ET shift and potential weekend work after training. The position focuses on real-time monitoring, incident response, and escalation across a large enterprise network with 500+ sites.

W2 benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, and life insurance. Rate is $50.00–$55.00/hr.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; highly qualified candidates may be considered without a degree.
3–5 years in network operations or NOC with strong Cisco exposure.
Hands-on eyes-on-glass monitoring in a 24x7 setting.
Experience with circuit outages, BGP, VLANs, tunnels.

Responsibilities

Monitor enterprise network health and respond to real-time incidents across environments.
Triage and resolve circuit and connectivity outages, including BGP events, tunnels, and VLAN issues.
Navigate Cisco devices and execute diagnostic commands to isolate Layer 1–3 faults.
Coordinate with ISPs and vendors to escalate and drive resolution.
Communicate status and impact through emails, calls, and updates.
Prioritize multiple outages and maintain engagement until stabilization.
Follow SOPs and contribute to documentation quality.
Operate in a primary/secondary rotation balancing incidents and support.
Support preemptive mitigation and proactive monitoring practices.
