Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote IT Support Specialist with networking expertise to maintain a global IT network and support a diverse user base across time zones. You will troubleshoot, manage devices, and ensure security and reliability in a remote-first environment.

The role requires 4+ years in IT support with network focus, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. Cloud networking experience is a plus, CCNA/Network+ valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/IT or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of IT support experience with focus on network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VPNs.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (Cisco/Juniper/Ubiquiti).
• Experience with network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
• Excellent remote troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote setting.
• Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Network+ or equivalent valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for network issues including connectivity, performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless APs.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify bottlenecks or failures.
• Assist design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
• Manage user accounts and network access controls.
• Develop and maintain network documentation including diagrams and configurations.
• Respond to IT support tickets and user requests in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with IT team on projects and system upgrades.
• Ensure network security policies and best practices are followed.
• Guide and support less experienced IT staff as needed.
