Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our U.S. Payroll team. You will process payroll transactions, maintain records, and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time across multiple states from a remote home-based role in Arizona.

You will audit data, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and other teams to support compliant, efficient payroll operations. Prior experience with Oracle HRMS/Time & Labor is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with automated payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• FLSA knowledge is required.
• Prevailing Wage/Certified Payroll experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll transactions and changes accurately and on time.
• Audit payroll data and reports to identify discrepancies before processing.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve routine issues.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation.
• Support payroll balancing, reconciliation, and quality control.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and other stakeholders to resolve questions.
• Assist with process improvements to payroll operations.
• Perform other payroll and admin duties as assigned.
